A Sermon fro
m Down Under 25th July 2010
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the modernisation of Farnham Methodist Church,
the Revd Brian Whitlock took part in the service over a video link to his home in
Australia.
Brian came to the Farnham, Hale, Rowledge Section for 1 year during a difficult and uncertain time in the year 2000 and set about a programme of modernisation of the Farnham Church.
In the service on 25th July 2010 Brian gave his recollections of that time. Later he delivered a sermon where he encouraged us get out of the boat if we wanted to walk on the water (ie come out of our comfort zones if we want to spread the Good News of the Gospel in our situation).
This is a timely message as we are considering the ‘Way Forward’ for our Church.
After the service was over those who wished to speak with Brian and June had the opportunity to do so.
